ALT extends gratitude

Anal Lelruwl Tangpi (Anal Students Union) has expressed gratitude to the Central Government representatives for their timely visit to the flood and landslide affected areas at Chakpikarong, our correspondent reports.
ALT in a statement said even though numerous aids have been extended towards the victims from politicians, NGOs, Christian churches, social workers, civil organizations, State and district administration, groups and individuals, major sections of the affected villages are still left unattended.
Most affected places like Rungchang, Chakpikarong Khupi and Hringphe would take years to rebuild, the union said.
The only Government Higher Secondary and other Government establishments at Chakpikarong Sub - Division are left in a pathetic condition after the flood, ALT said in the statement.
The union has appealed the Central team to minutely brief the authorities at the Centre to extend immediate and necessary package towards the affected villages.
The union has also thanked DC, Thoubal; SDO, Chandel; SDO, Chakpikarong for their initiation in bringing the Central officials to Chakpikarong.
