Jiribam, November 20 2015 :
Over 205 trucks are stranded at Leinganpokpi at present owing to the blockade imposed by the Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) demanding the State Government to declare Jiribam as a full-fledged revenue district at Leingangpokpi today.
Media persons came across six loaded trucks damaged by supporters of economic blockade at Leinganpokpi.
Truck drivers from other States expressed disappointment with the conduct of the supporters.
Most of them claimed that they were unaware of JDDC's blockade.
Meanwhile, JDDC, in a press meet held at JIMPAL office today has appealed truck drivers and Government authorities not to defy the blockade by providing escort to the stranded the vehicles.
The committee has also expressed disappointment that no civil society organisation based at Imphal have extended any form support to JDDC's agitation.
