Larger Myanmar delegation expected

The number of Myanmar delegates participating in Manipur Sangai Festival has been increasing year after year.
Speaking to media persons on the eve of this year's Sangai Festival opening ceremony, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore said that a much larger delegation is expected from Myanmar during this Sangai Festival.
The Indian Consulate General based at Mandalay, Myanmar has informed that a 35-member delegation including MLAs, officials and businessmen of Myanmar's Sagaing Division would come to Imphal for the festival by road.
In addition, a chartered flight of Golden Myanmar would bring a team of Myanmar tourists tomorrow.
Another team of Myanmar tourists would be brought to Imphal by Mangiri Travels from Mandalay.
A cultural troupe from the neighbouring country would reach Imphal on November 28 .
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has already given due approval for operating the chartered flight and the same flight would take tourists from Manipur to Myanmar on its return flight.
The Chief Secretary informed that the Bhutanese Ambassador to India would take part in the Sangai Festival.
Ticket counters for the festival have been opened at 7/8 places.
Hapta Kangjeibung, the main festival venue is being guarded by security forces round the clock, the Chief Secretary added.
