Cooperative Week celebration concludes

The 59th All India Cooperative Week Celebration jointly organised by Manipur State Cooperative Union, Institute of Co-operative Management and NCUI-Women Cooperative Education Project under the aegis of Registrar, Co-operative societies since November 14 concluded today at ICM Complex, Lamphelpat.
the celebration was held under the theme 'Cooperative Enterprises Build a Better World' on the topic 'Empowerment of Women and Weaker Section Through Cooperatives' .
As chief guest of the valedictory function, Parliamentary Secretary for Minor Irrigation and IPR K Meghachandra exuded confidence that training programmes in diverse trades conducted by different units of the Cooperative Societies would ultimately boost industrial development in Manipur.
Noting that there are many skilled workers in various trades in the State, Meghachandra emphasised on proper training and guidance to these youths to enable them fine-tune their craftsmanship for generating income and earn a respectable livelihood.
Commissioner (Cooperation) K Moses Chalai, Registrar (Cooperative Societies) Thaithuilung Pamei, Additional Registrar Th Manao Singh, ICM Chairman L Tompishak Singh and NCUI-Project Coordination Committee chairperson Jeena Potsangbam were also present at the occasion.
