Badhte Kadam-IV flagged off

Spastic Society of Manipur, (SSM) Moirangkhom in association with National Trust for Welfare of Person with Autism organized the flag off ceremony of its 4th phase of Badhte Kadam campaign to spread message of hope, peace, dignity human rights and empowerment of person with disabilities at Palace Compound's Lamyanba Sanglen on Tuesday.
As part of the function, SSM feted four persons with different disabilities, who have excelled in various fields despite odds namely bilateral hearing loss with 50% degree Buntee Singh Konthoujam, (MPSC-2010 successful candidate); left leg polio affected Yengkhom Nabakishwar Singh (MPSC-2010 successful candidate); blind and a 43 times blood donor Leishangthem Mangi Singh, and locomotor disable, writer, craftsperson, and recipient of RK Sanatombi Memorial Award-2012 Mayanglambam Sumati Devi with gifts and citations.
Disable students of SSM, Ideal Blind School, Ch Ibohal Special School and Govt.Deaf and Mute School performed various cultural and entertainment programs like mime play, fashion show, dance and cultural shows.
K Radhakumar Singh (IAS), DC, Imphal West and M C Mary Kom, London Olympic-2012 medalist attended the function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
