Imphal, September 15, 2010:
AMSU, chandel District Committee, KSO, Moreh Block and students of Moreh Government Higher Secondary School have begun blocking the Imphal-Moreh road from 6 pm yesterday as part of the 72 hour bandh called by the two student organisations.
The students of the school and the volunteers of the two student bodies blocked the Imphal-Moreh road.
They also held placards which read slogans such as "Save Moreh Govt Hr Sec School", "Give us a competent Principal", "Save Education, Save the Students", "Moreh is a part of Manipur�where is its concern?", "Is the Education Department still sleeping?", "Give us our right to education," etc.
As no vehicles arrived in Moreh from Imphal, the Namphalong International market in Myanmar near Moreh border town remained deserted.
No reports of untoward incident during the bandh were received.
About 700 students including girls of the Higher Secondary School sat on benches across the road to block it in between Moreh Forest Gate and Moreh Police Check Post.
