Imphal, June 12 2009:
On receiving application from five Meitei villages of Moreh, Khongnangthaba, Mongyamba, Heinoumakhong, New Khunou and Turel Wangma, DC Chandel Devesh Deval has distributed job-cards under NREGS to 20 beneficiaries from amongst the applicants in a public meeting held at Trade Centre, Moreh.
According to a press release issued by the DRDA, Chandel, Meitei and Muslim communities of Moreh opted to stay away from NREGS in the first two years of NREGS implementation due to some communication gap.
However, this year under the initiative of DC Devesh Deval, efforts were made to convince Meitei and Muslim communities of Moreh to avail themselves of the 100 days employment guarantee benefits, added the release.
