Imphal, April 17 2015 :
Manipur People's Party (MPP) has strongly reacted to the speech delivered by Chief Minister O Ibobi yesterday during the birth anniversary observation of Dr BR Ambedkar.
Speaking to reporters at MPP office in Imphal today, party president N Sovakiran said that Dr BR Ambedkar was a respectable figure in Indian history and known for his righteousness and contribution in drafting the Indian Constitution.
He added Chief Minister Ibobi's speech was unreasonable and termed it as a mere 'vote bank policy' .
Specifically mentioning the loopholes of the Chief Minister's speech, N Sovakiran said that CBI would naturally have to decline handling the case of finding human skulls in the Tombisana High School complex as the State Government had already deliberately deleted all the possible clues and evidences.
Reacting to the appeal of the Chief Minister to VDF personnel, Sovakiran said that the issue of VDF occured due to extreme irresponsibility and sheer greed of votes by the Congress Government.
While the Centre allowed appointment of only 1000 VDF personnel, the State Government had recruited 10500 VDF personnel before the 2012 General Elections.
Sovakiran further said that the policy of the State Government is even worse than the 'Opium war in China' .
Reacting to the Chief Minister's assurance to take up action against the guilty employees in reagrd to the issue of the Minor Irrigation Dept (MI), Sovakiran stated that such assurance is just a repetition and should not be taken seriously as the Chief Minister had given similar assurances in the past as well without ever implementing it.
The MPP president said that the public could differentiate between right and wrong and subsequetly give a befitting reply to the Congress Government in the upcoming General Election.
Suggesting on how to ensure a transparency during the upcoming ADC election, Sovakiran added that the State Government should first wipe out the designated camps of insurgent outfits in hill areas who have been interfering in political affairs of the State.
