Imphal, August 16 2021: Retired IAS Officer, Ningam Chamroy joined Bharatiya Janata Party.

He joined BJP in the presence of BJP State president, A Sharda Devi in a simple function held at the office of BJP Manipur at Keishampat Nityaipat Chuthek yesterday.

Ningam Chamroy belongs from Halang village in Chingai Assembly Constituency of Ukhrul district and he is an MCS officer of 1981 batch.

Later he was promoted to the rank of an IAS officer and held many positions at different Government offices.

He retired in 2018 and has shown a keen interest in politics and, has been actively involved in many political activities and is planning to contest in the upcoming State Assembly election from Chingai AC.

Prominent members of BJP Manipur and headmen of Halang, Peh, Chingjaroi Khullen and Kachai villages were also present on the occasion.
