Bills condemned

Tribal Forum, Silchar has strongly condemned the PMP Bill, 2015, MLR &LR (7th Amendment) Bill and Manipur Shop and Establishment (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2015 which were passed by the Manipur Assembly on Aug 31 .
A meeting of Tribal Forum, Silchar held on September 8 said that the Bills are a detrimental force acting against the safety of the indigenous tribal of Manipur as the Bills attempt to exclude them from their own land.
The passing of the Bills was with procedural lapse and violated the tribal rights.
The Bills are in contravention of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous People Article 26, TF, Silchar said a statement.
It condemned the high-handedness of Manipur police for using live bullets for tribals and rubber bullets for valley.
It demanded immediate resignation of the hill MLAs, immediate intervention of the Central Government, total withdrawal of the Bills and separate administration for the hills.
The forum, strongly condemned the killings of innocent tribals by the police forces of Manipur who opposed the Bills in the larger interest of the tribals.
