56 oil tankers ready to roll in today

Following the restoration and opening of the Imphal-Dimapur highway to heavy vehicles, after it remained cut off for some time due to sinking of the road surface at Phisama in Nagaland, 56 trucks carrying petroleum and petroleum products including oil tankers will arrive here tomorrow.
According to an official source, hectic efforts are on to bring the 56 filled trucks carrying petroleum and petroleum products in Imphal following assurance from a BRTF official that the restored road has been opened to heavy vehicles from today.
The BRTF official held a meeting with the State level Coordinator of IOC Divisional Retails Sales Office, SI Singh.

A source from IOC Divisional Retails Sales Office, Imphal said a total of 56 trucks carrying petroleum and petroleum products including 14 trucks each of petrol and diesel, three ATF loaded trucks, 15 SKO trucks and 10 LPG loaded trucks will arrive here tomorrow.
The 56 trucks will head towards Imphal from Dimapur with escort after midnight today.
The trucks will be escorted to Imphal from Mao by the convoy party which escorted empty oil tankers from Imphal this evening.
The trucks are expected to arrive here by 10 am tomorrow.
State level Coordinator of IOC, Imphal has sought adequate security to escort the petroleum and petroleum products carrying vehicles.
The State DGP has also reportedly made necessary security arrangements towards this end.
IG (Manipur and Nagaland Sector), CRPF has been urged to provide security convoys to escort empty and filled IOCL tankers to and fro Imphal.
Meanwhile, 61 empty LPG Bullet trucks, five ATF trucks, 46 empty petrol and diesel tankers, 13 empty BPCL oil tankers left Imphal for Jiribam with security escort.
The security will escort back oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers stranded at Jiribam.
About 250 loaded trucks are said to be stranded at Jiribam as they could not proceed due to the break down of Barak bridge since Aug 25 .
