DESAM seeks Government's attention

Imphal, July 07 2021:
Ema Hospital in Kakching charged exorbitant rate ranging from Rs 2,450 (Rupees two thousand four hundred and fifty) to Rs 8,400 (Rupees eight thousand four hundred) for Personal Protection Equipments (PPE) .
Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kakching District Council in a press release made the above statement and expressed concern over the ignorant attitude of the authorities concerned on the matter.
The student body maintained that the State is going through a rough phase amid the critical situation of second wave of COVID-19 in the State and the exorbitant rate charged by private hospitals in the State defying the norms of Government pose major hindrance to the general public.
Regarding the matter, DESAM, Kakching District Council appealed to the authorities concerned viz District Administration, CMO Kakching and Health Directorate to intervene and solve the issue however no practical measures have been taken up till date which is unfortunate.
Lastly the student body demanded the authorities concerned to look into the matter and take up stringent actions against those hospitals defying the orders of the Government and should ensure to refund the amount which have been over charged from the patients.
