Solo trip to Delhi flagged off

Imphal, January 28 2019:
Gerinda Loitongbam (22) of Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai, embarked on a solo car trip to the National capital today, carrying the message 'Stop crime against women'.
The trip was flagged off from Kangla by founder secretary of Organisation for Indian Women Against Crime, Canchipur, Arambam Robita Leima.
Gerinda is the daughter of L Johnson Singh and L (O) Somi and she is currently pursuing her graduate final year at Regional College.
Speaking to media persons before starting her solo trip, Gerinda clarified that the trip is not planned to show that women can do all that men can, but to spread the message and awareness about crime against women.
She further informed that during the 10 days trip she will also organise awareness programmes at various schools along the way.
On the other hand, speaking to media persons after flagging off the solo car trip, Arambam Robita lauded the young lady for embarking on such a significant trip for the betterment of the society.
She further informed that Gerinda will stay for the night at Dimapur and then head to the National capital where she will conclude her trip at India Gate.
After she returns, a welcome ceremony will be held at Manipur University, Robita added.
Many attended the flagging off event of the solo trip, including popular actors Kaiku and Sadananda.
