Imphal, January 28 2019:
The Joint SSA & RMSA Teachers' Association, Manipur, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister today demanding the regularisation of salaries and promotion to the next higher substantive posts within February 2 .
The memo mentioned that the RMSA and SSA teachers were appointed in the year 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016 respectively on regular basis from the day of the appointment but they do not get their salary in time.
Even when they get the salary, it is provided on instalment basis for 2/3 times in a year and that too with backlog salaries, it explained.
The memo continued that even though RMSA and SSA teachers are serving as regular teachers, they are not getting their monthly salaries like other teachers of the State and appealed to the CM to absorb all the teachers to the Education Department (S) as a policy so as to eliminate all the pending problems.
It further claimed that some of the RMSA and SSA teachers have been serving for more than 5 years but with no avenue for promotion to higher posts.
Appealing the CM to look into the matter at the earliest, it warned that if the demands are not fulfilled by or before February 2, the association will resort to intense democratic agitation.
