Refuting the allegation of one Ileibung of Aben village who is reportedly said that MLA of 52(ST) Tamei A/C Awangbow Nemai never visited Tousem area after being elected as MLA in a news report published in this paper on its August 24 edition under the caption 'Tousem left on the verge of starvation', Village Authority Chairmen Council (VACC) of Tousem Sub-division has asserted that the allegation was totally false and unfounded.
In a statement, VACC chairman Alungbou Newmai clarified that the local MLA had visited Tousem area 3 times and each time covering many villages.
The MLA had also visited Tousem headquarters twice along with Works Minister K Ranjit to assess the problems being faced by the people of the area and also along with Hill Area Committee chairman and MLAs to study the situation and problems of the area with the objective of bringing about infrastructural development.
He had also visited the relief camps of the villages fled from NC Hills Assam in Tousem areas and distributed relief materials, Alungbou said, adding that though the MLA is in the Opposition he never lost heart and has been working for the people without any bias.
