Out of three persons who sustained injuries and have been undergoing treatment following a road related mishap at Lilong Chajing Mamang Leikai area along Imphal-Moeh Road yesterday, one of them succumbed.
According to police report, at around 10.30 am yesterday, 38-year old Okram Surajkumar s/o Esheihanba of Thoubal Okram was coming towards Imphal riding a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle along with two other persons when the motorcycle met with an accident while trying to avoid hitting a man alighting from a passenger bus near the Toll Tax collection booth of Lilong Chajing.
All three of them were admitted to RIMS.
But as the condition of Surajkumar was serious, he was latter referred to JN Hospital.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to the injuries at around 2.40 am today.
Surajkumar was the owner of a store dealing in electronic items at Governor Road in Paona Bazar.
Meanwhile, while expressing gratitude for admitting Suraj-kumar to the hospital after the incident, the bereaved family members, who came to collect the body at the mortuary of RIMS, however, informed that the mobile phone of Surajkumar through which the news had been given by an unknown caller has remained switch off.
On the other hand, the bodies of Saikhom Romila and Saikhom Lakshmi who were killed when the passenger bus in which they were travelling was collided by truck at Lilong Arapti Lamkhai area along Imphal-Moreh Road yesterday have been handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem at Lilong PHC today.
