With the observation that Swine Flu virus is more active in the cold season, taking up precautionary measures to combat with the dreaded disease will be intensified with the approaching of winter, director of health services, W Motilal said today.
Briefing to the media persons today at a press conference held at his office chamber at Lamphel, the director said state has got one lakh tamiflu capsule for treatment patient suffering from H1N1 virus.
Masks for supply to the family of member suffering from Swine Flu and health workers also arrived in the state.
A meeting held today attended by the district chief medical officers, medical superintendent, district health services officers has also decided to intensify the surveillance works taken up in the state for combating with the spread of Swine Flu , Motilal said.
He further informed that at the directorate office also a control room has been opened a help line at room no.23.So far out of three persons tested for the disease one has been confirmed suffering from the disease.
Dr Thounaocham Bubhonchandra who also briefed the media persons said state health service is getting ready to combat with the dreaded disease.
The step has been taken considering the situation of the H1N1 across the country and one person of the state was among the victims of the disease.
In such situation, state cannot remain silent.
The matter to what step could be taken up in the state to combat with the outbreak of the disease will discussed at high level, he added.
He also observed the need for using mask while travelling in bus and at people gathering places.
If a person is confirm of suffering from the disease, other should stay far away from him and should ensure use of mask.
