Imphal, August 25 2009:
The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) denied the allegation of Imphal West Police on Salam Deban and his wife Salam Ongbi Memcha from Nongmaikhong on the recovery of arm caches from their house.
A press statement of RPF said that both persons do not have any kind of relation with RPF.
The arm caches recovered from their house was deposited by some of their cadres due to certain inconvenience.
Unfortunately, the arm caches fell into the hand of combine forces before their cadre had any chances to recover the arms.
Recovery of arms from one's house does not prove someone that he has relations with UGs.
"If so, what about the MLA/Ministers from whom, arms were recovered in the past few years? Are they also UG activist?" asked the statement.
Moreover, public will not accept their act arresting of an innocent child and giving false statement to the public.
The statement condemned the arrest and harassment of Salam Bidyarani as if she was also an UG activist.
If they are so keen to treat her, why would they take her to a small clinic at Mayang Imphal instead of admitting her in RIMS or JN Hospital, asked RPF.
If they took her as they could not find anybody to look after the child, why would not they take her to a children home instead of Police Station, asked RPF.
Further, the statement also denied relations with Md Warish Khan of Thoubal Moijing and Oinam Lukhoi of Yumnam Huidrom Khunyai Leikai who were arrested by 34 AR and combined forces on August 21 and 14 last.
RPF asked the security forces to stop their coward act of arresting and killing innocent people and alleging false charges.
If the security forces continue such acts and their act crossed the limit of tolerance, RPF might change their decision to avoid bloodshed with the state forces, clarified the statement.
