Route for semi low floor bus

The route for the service of semi low floor buses in the Imphal city under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission (JNNURM) has been chalked out and the trial service will be conducted on January 27. A highly placed source said that the decision was taken during a meeting of the Urban Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA) held on January 21.The semi low floor buses will be used upto Heijingang, Canchipur on Imphal-Moreh Road, Tulihal Airport on NH 150 Tiddim Road, Langjing on NH 53, Iroishemba on UK Road, Game Village, Shija Hospital, Luwangshangbam on Imphal-Dimapur Road, Lamlong Bazar on Imphal-Ukhrul Road, DC Road Porompat and Kongba Bazar on Imphal-Yairipok Road.
UMTA will look over the condition of the proposed routes if they could be used for the service of the buses during the trial service on January 27.The buses will do their service round the clock to give complete customer satisfaction after the construction of ring roads around Imphal city.
Even though the Urban Development Ministry instructed to use the buses only in Municipal area, the authority is discussing to use the buses in Greater Imphal area since the Municipal area of IMC is too small as compare to other cities� municipal areas.
A committee to finalise the buse fare to be charged to the passengers was also formed.
The committee will also point out the stations where the buses will stop for passengers.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Urban Development will be giving only 12 buses out of the 25 in the first phase.
The remaining buses will be given later in the second phase.
TATA Company also expressed their willingness to hand over the buses to the state government.
