The DPC recommended successful candidates for the primary teachers today stormed the office of the Directorate of education (S) at Lamphelpat, Imphal demanding issuance of appointment orders.
Members of Association of DPC Successful Candidates for Primary Teachers stormed the office during a silent rally taken from near the DC office Lamphel at about 2 pm.
They also staged a sit in protest in front of the office demanding for immediate issue of appointment orders.
The rally also condemned the attempt of the government to cancel the DPC recommended successful candidates result which was out in the Hueiyen Lanpao daily paper and asserted that it could not be cancelled.
The Association of DPC successful candidates for primary teachers also pressed for early completion of the inquiry conducted by the inquiry committee.
They also demanded paste of the result of the DPC recommended successful candidates for primary teachers, which was published in the Hueiyen Lanpao daily paper in the notice board of the Directorate of Education (S)'s office.
When the agitation continued at the office complex, the office was locked down by the department authority before a police team led by SDPO Lamphel and OC arrived at the spot to control the situation.
Later, four representatives of the association led by its president were permitted to enter and call on with the Director education (S), however as the Director and Additional Director along with higher officers of the department were not in the office as they were gone for assembly session.
In their absence the team met the A O Chandrakumar and put their demands to him, in which the officer assured for conveyance their demands to the Director.
President of the Association M S Rahman later speaking to reporter said that they are demanding issuance of appointment orders by accepting the declared DPC recommended result.
Failure on the part of the government, they would compel to launch fast unto death and also go to court.
