Imphal, July 23 2010:
The mother and daughter on July 18 at Khongjom in Thoubal District were carried out by her husband and her mother-in-laws after prolonged torture charged the JAC formed against the brutal killing of Ningnombam Ningol Sharangthem ongbi Renubala and her seven year old Alva in a statement demanding justice in the heinous crime.
The JAC took out a rally at Khongjom area today.
The rally converged at the office of the CJM Thoubal district where the culprits Sarangthem Bishorjit and Sarangthem ongbi Sanahanbi were produced after three day police remand was over.
The JAC demanded further police remand of the two main alleged culprits for further interrogation to unravel the truth on the death of the mother and her daughter.
The rally was concluded when the Assistant Public Prosecutor L Bimol granted another 5 day police remand to two alleged culprits.
The rally also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the DC, Thoubal containing their demands not to release the alleged culprits in bail which draws attention of the Chief Minister.
They also urged for delivering of justice after thorough investigation, any form of torture to women and children be prevented,
it demanded.
The president of the JAC lamented that the victims were subjected to torture by the husband and in laws, due to which she had to take shelter at her ancestral home many times earlier before the death.
JAC refuted the claim of self suicidal.
