MPCC president TN Haokip lauds contribution of private enterprise

"The Narendra Modi's Government only changes the titles and names of the schemes which have been already introduced by the previous Congress Government".
This was stated by MPCC president as well as MLA of Saikot AC, TN Haokip, in a programme organised to mark the celebration of Nungthang Tampak village attaining the title of 100 percent computer literate village, with assistance from Mangal Rural .
Speaking at the event, TN Haokip stated that the present schemes and initiatives which are being taken up by the BJP Government, are the ones which were introduced by the previous Congress Government and added that only the names or title have been changed .
Accusing the present BJP Government in the Centre as well as the State for taking credit of the newly launched schemes, he stated that the present Government has changed the name of Unique Identification System, initiated by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, to Aadhaar and has taken full credit for it .
He expressed the need to encourage and acknowledge the initiative of social enterprises like Mangal Rural, which conducted commendable works like making Nungthang Tampak a 100 percent computer literate village .
Lauding the enterprise, he said, "Whether it is a private company or Government-owned, such enterprise should be lauded and recognised especially when the work serves as an important achievement for the Prime Minister's vision of Digital India .
He assured to extend all possible assistance to any projects of Mangal Rural and also to provide every necessary items in setting up a computer centre in the village .
Mangal Rural founder, Ningthoujam Surjit Singh stated that, the enterprise has taken up many steps to make the State digitally and technologically advanced compared to other States .
Mangal Rural has brought light to 8000 houses in both the hills and valley region, which were deprived of electricity, he stated and added that the enterprise has made Atom Khullen, Imphal West, the first 'One Solar Village' in all the North East states in 2016, for providing solar lighting system at every household of the area .
The programme was attended by Nungthaang Tampak village chief L Romeo Kom, MDC Churachandpur Chonsei, ADC member Khaipao, Rev Dr Asong Leivon and other village chiefs of villages under Saikot AC, as presidium members.
