Book on developments in Mayang Imphal AC released

Imphal, December 24 2016: A book on development works initiated in Mayang Imphal AC under Minister of Education and Transport Dr Kh Ratankumar during his ten years tenure as an elected representative from Mayang Imphal AC was released today at his official quarter located at Babupara, Imphal.

Organized by Mayang Imphal Block Congress Committee, Mayang Imphal Mahila Congress Committee and Mayang Imphal Youth Congress Committee, the book releasing programme was graced by Dr Kh Ratankumar, president of Mayang Imphal Block Congress Committee Rajmohan Meitei as the chief guest and president respectively.

Other members of Mayang Imphal Mahila Congress Committee and Mayang Imphal Youth Congress Committee were also present at the function.

Addressing at the function, Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar said that the book will provide a glimpse of the remarkable achievements made by the Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency after he was elected as the people's representative 10 years ago.

He said the book has showcased various developmental works taken up in different areas in Mayang Imphal AC and said that all the achievements would have not been possible without the requisite corresponding action, motivation, inspiration, positive thoughts and support from the public of the constituency.

Some of the major achievements in the Mayang Imphal AC includes construction of retaining walls in various areas, construction of district hospital at Mayang Imphal, upgradation and construction of SDPO office, construction of watersupply scheme, construction of Emoinu Shopping Complex, upgradation of Mayang Imphal and Sekmaijing PHCs, conversion of Pravabati College to Government Aided College, upgradation of Bangoon High School to higher secondary level, upgradation of Sekmaijin Junior High School and Phoubakchao Makha Upper Primary School to high school level and construction of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) .

Residents of Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency have also witnessed fast pace development in transport and communication sector, he added.

During the last ten years, bridges were built which have improved the connectivity.

Further he urged the people to extend support in all his endeavours to make Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency a 'model' Assembly Constituency of the State.

He assured that he would further work to bring all round development not only in Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency but also in other parts of the State.

The book also includes images of the developmental works taken up in the last ten years under various schemes and programmes.
