Top security officers study situation in State

Imphal, December 24 2016:
Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh arrived in Manipur capital Imphal on Saturday to review the security situation in the wake of the blockade imposed by the United Naga Council (UNC), reports ANI.
General Singh will also visit Assam to review the security situation there.
DGAR reviews situation : Lt General Shokin Chauhan, Director General of Assam Rifles who visited HQ IGAR (South), Imphal on December 23 and 24 to take stock of the prevailing situation in the State met Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and discussed the law and order situation in the State.

Assuring the Chief Minister to extend co-operation to the State in maintaining law and order, the Director General conveyed his warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
The Director General was also briefed on the present situation by Major General Virendra Singh, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) .
Director General Shokin Chauhan appreciated the endeavour of IGAR (South) and conveyed his support in tackling the security challenges.
Lauding the AR personnel for ensuring peace and transquility in the State, the Director General encourged them to continue their relentless service.
