Imphal, September 13 2012:
A former RPF/PLA activist who has retired to civilian life has disappeared after he was allegedly picked up from his home by some persons who looked like non-locals, suspected to be military personnel but clad in civilian clothes.
Salam Bikram (25) s/o Premjit of Moirang Thoya Leikai under Moirang police station, Bishnupur district was picked up from his home by the group of men at about 11.30 pm of September 10 .
He was earlier working in RPF/PLA but he retired to civilian life after his release from jail about two years back.
It is reported that arrangements were being made for his marriage next month.
Bikram has a case pending in Thoubal District Police and he was presenting himself at Court regularly.
Family members are suspecting that Bikram is being victimised in vengeance for the bomb attack carried out by PLA on Moirang-Kumbi road on September 9 in which one AR personnel was killed and 10 others sustained injuries.
Though the Bishnupur SP has been informed about the matter, Bikram's whereabouts remained unknown till date.
In the meantime, taking strong exception to the act of keeping Bikram's location a secret, local people staged a protest demonstration at Moirang Thoya Leikai today.
