Bomb lobbed at Lamphel RAW branch office explodes, none hurt

Imphal, September 13 2012:
Barely 12 hours after a grenade was found at the complex of the high security Old Secretariat, a bomb lobbed by suspected insurgents exploded just near the branch office of the Research and Analysis Wing today morning.
The bomb exploded this morning near the office of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) which is located behind Lamphel police station Imphal West.
No casualty has been reported though.
According to the police, the explosion took place around 2 in the wee hours of today.
The explosive was said to be a low intensity one.
However, an independent source said the explosion of high intensity took place near the fencing of RAW office.
It said that the sound of the explosion was heard 7 kilometres away from the spot.
The source said the office of RAW is located near the BRO camp which is situated north east of Lamphel PS.
When the spot was searched, no damages other than some banana trees being ripped apart around the campus of RAW (Special Bureau) complex was visible.
A newly installed flood lamp was found damaged within the campus.
This was the fifth 'bomb incident' in the last couple of days.
On September 5, a scooter fitted bomb exploded at Keishampat in which two Assam Rifles personnel were injured while on September 8 a bomb exploded near Tiddim ground injuring an Army personnel and a civilian.
An Assam Rifles JCO was killed while ten others were injured in a bomb attack at Kangshoibi Thong along Moirang Kumbi road on September 9 at about 6 am.
