Mega distribution camp postponed

The mega distribution camp for persons with disabilities, in continuation of the free assesment camps for aids and appliances for disabled persons held under the aegis of National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities and Spastic Society of Manipur which was scheduled to be held on February 16 has been postponed, a statement issued by Spastic Society's director informed.
The free assesment camps were held at three different places starting 2014.The first camp was held on November 21at Spastic Society of Manipur, Imphal the next on November 22, 2014 at Kiyamba Shanglen, Bishnupur and lastly at Khangabok School, Thoubal on January 16 this year.
The mega distribution, which was scheduled to be held at 1st MR, was to be graced by Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot.
The postponement came a day after the Union Minister postponed his visit.
The mega distribution camp is to be organised by NIEPMD, Chennai in association with the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur and Spastic Society of Manipur.
The later date of the designed camp would be set after confirmation from the Ministry, the statement conveyed.
