MEELAL threatens ban

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has said that no Manipuri book, released after March 2013, must use alien languages.
In a press release, MEELAL threatened to impose ban on those Manipuri books which are found using alien languages.
MEELAL said that the organisation has confiscated copies of Mayanglambam Kandesh's 'Romoni', Dr AK Dhiren Meitei's 'Wakat Santi Tahanba' and 'Karamna Sen Tan Gani, Karamna Sen Paigani, Karamna Enak Khunba Mee Oigani', Kenbi Mayanglambam's 'Epu Eben Gi Phunga Wari', DL Kabui's 'Kabui Salang Maiba', Kongbrailatpam Malemnganba Sharma's 'Manipurda Gouriya Beisnap Dharma' for using alien languages.
MEELAL is also currently trying to find out alien languages in Manipuri text books of Class I to X published by Board of Secondary Education Manipur.
Omission of alien language is applicable in Manipuri films, courtyard plays, newspapers and magazines as well.
The organisation also sought co-operation from the general public in this regard.
