DM remands 'vehicle lifter'

Duty Magistrate Imphal West today remanded 18 years old 'vehicle lifter' Seijakai Haokip to 8 days police custody (till May 12) for allegedly stealing a bike (TVS Apache) from near Imphal Hotel on April 11 .
The accused Seijakai Haokip, s/o Seilun Haokip of Pangmoul Village Saitu Gamphazol Senapati district, currently staying at Canan Veng Moreh ward number 7 was arrested last night from a place near the Pallel Police Station.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that on April 11 owner of the bike lodged a complaint to Imphal Police Station, stating that his bike parked in front of Imphal Hotel near the MPSC Office was stolen.
Acting on specific information, a team of Imphal police, Kakching commando and Pallel police detained the accused vehicle lifter coming from Moreh at Pallel Bazar at around 9.30 pm yesterday in a bike.
On spot verification, it was confirmed that the bike is the stolen /missing one.
The IO further submitted that custodial interrogation is highly required for thorough investigation of the case.
The Duty Magistrate Imphal West on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the accused to 8 days police custody till May 12 .
