Farmers' Motivation prog concludes

A two-day farmers' motivation and extension programme organised with an aim to encourage scientific dairy farming has concluded at ICDS Food Processing Unit, Porompat today.
The programme was organised by Manipur Milk Producers Co-operative Union Limited.
Speaking at the closing function as a resource person, CAU Associate Professor Dr Th Randhir said, cross breed cattle of indigenous and jersey varieties give greatest quantity of milk.
Although, India is the highest milk producing country in the world, quantity of milk produced by a single cattle is too low if it is compared with countries like USA, Russia and other countries, he added.
MMPCU chairman Dhananjoy Ningomba said that many farmers have been sent to other States to get training on dairy farming.
More than 100 trainees took part in the training programme.
