Uyumpok Committee decries

The Development Committee, Uyumpok Gram Panchayat has decried the alleged demand of 12 UG groups to deduct three per cent from all funds sanctioned to different wards of the Gram Panchayat for development programmes and divert the same amount to them.
Speaking to media persons at Uyumpok Terapur Keithel today, the committee appealed to all the 12 UG groups to withdraw their demand.
Uyumpok GP has nine wards and the UG groups have been demanding three per cent for each of them from all development funds sanctioned by Government for the nine wards.
This is simply unacceptable, said the committee members.
The UG groups which are allegedly demanding three per cent of the development funds include PLA, UNLF, KYKL, PREPAK (Pro), MDF, URF, KCP (Noyon), KCP (KK Nganba), KCP (Lamjingba), KCP (Lamyanba Khuman), PULF (Azad), KCP (Maoists) etc.
For Uyumpok GP, an amount of Rs 11,33,695 was sanctioned under the State Finance Commission 2012-13 .
80 per cent of this amount has been drawn and is being utilised when the 12 UG groups served the monetary demand.
Under Uyumpok GP Pradhan K Ichal, MGNREGS works have been executed in three phases for 2012-13 .
In the first phase, irrigation canal from Khamenlok to Lamboikhul Makha Leikai was renovated at the cost of Rs 14,51,976 .
In the second phase, the road from Ikop Pat to Lamboi Ching was repaired with the sanctioned of Rs five lakhs.
An amount of Rs nine lakhs sanctioned in the third phase was utilised in repairing the road from Heikrak Ching to Keibi Salam.
The committee members maintained they have been working together with their Pradhan smoothly and transparently.
