Chandigarh, January 18 2016:
A team of 30 members from seven North East States of the country arrived in Chandigarh on Sunday to tour the city under ABVP's students' experience in inter-State living (SEIL) initiative.
Of the 30-member team, two each will have a two-day stay with 15 families in Chandigarh.
The host families are the families of ABVP members.
ABVP members received the team at the railway station.
On Monday, the team will have breakfast with DC, after which the team would meet mayor.
Moreover, a public programme has been organized at Law Bhavan in the evening, followed by an interaction with Punjab and Haryana Governor.
On Tuesday, the team would be taken to pay obeisance at Anandpur Sahib and leave for Jammu.
"As a part of the initiative, which has been in place for 60 years, the motive is to bridge the gap between people from the North East and those from other States by apprising them of the culture and tradition of different States of India," said Saurabh Kappor, Chandigarh organization secretary of ABVP, adding that the North East team would also visit Sukhna lake on Monday.
