Motorcycle rally held

Thoubal, January 29 2021:
In continuation of the series of protest initiated by CADA and other CSOs of the State against drug and substance abuse, the All Thoubal District United Clubs Organisation, ATDUCO and District Police Thoubal jointly organised a motorcycle rally from Lilong bazar to Khongjom yesterday.
The rally organised under the theme "A Healthy and Drug Free Future" was flagged off by Superintendent of Police Thoubal, Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh, MPS from Lilong bazar.
Placards with slogans, 'Choose to live free from addiction' , 'Be healthy', 'Don't do drugs', 'No drugs yes to life', 'Put it out before it puts you out', etc were used extensively in the rally.
Later, a public meeting was also conducted with SP Thoubal Dr S Ibomcha Singh; All Manipur United Clubs Organisation, AMUCO president Nando Luwang; Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup president L Memchoubi Devi; All Manipur Women Voluntary Association president Kunjarani Devi; Sapam Gram Panchayat Pradhan S Rameshwar; All Thoubal District Meira Paibi president Maipak Devi; All Thoubal District United Clubs Organisation president Rajen Loitam and advisor Kh Ibomcha as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Dr S Ibomcha highlighted the severe effects of drugs on society and stated that drugs and substance addiction is more harmful and destructive than other diseases like AIDS or COVID-19.He urged all the participants to lend their support in the fight against drugs and added that the bike rally was organised to generate awareness on the harmful effects of drugs.
The motorcycle rally was participated by district police Additional SP (Ops) Sachindra Soibam, Additional SP (L&O) Lakshay Sharma and other police officers, Social Welfare Officer Thoubal A Kameshwar, Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Thoubal District Committee member Y Lakshman and representatives of Meira Paibi, local clubs, student associations.
