Civil society organizations of Sadar Hills including Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, KSO Sadar Hills, TSA Sadar Hills and KWU Sadar Hills today warned contractors who have been bidding below scheduled rates for a road development work.
Expressing deep concerned over the depilated road condition of National Highways particularly within Taphou Kuki and Gamgiphai in Sadar Hills, the civil society organizations censured the poor maintenance of the highway.
Speaking to media persons this evening at Kangpokpi, spokesperson of Sadar Hills CSOs Lamcha Chongloi said that the matter is of great concern to the public of Sadar Hills particularly those residing along NH-2 .
He continued that the highway presents pictures of untold miseries as well as hands-off attitude of the contractors concerned.
Lamcha Chongloi lamented that the practice of below schedule rate quotation by the contractors while trying to get the works at the time of tendering is the key factor for the improper execution of the sanctioned works and partial maintenance of the highway.
It has been learn from a reliable source that tendering for the sanction work of 272 � 287 kms road is underway and warned that any bidding below the scheduled rate will not be entertained at any cost.
Lamcha further asserted that the execution of sanctioned work has been observed and experienced by all.
Qualitative as well as quantitative aspects have been completely ignored during implementation of any works under PWD, BRO and PMGSY in the State.
