KEN donates
Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN), a global Manipuri diaspora enterprises, donated a sum of Rs 5 lakh to Chief Minister Relief Fund.
Members of KEN today handed the amount to Chief Minister O Ibobi at his secretariat.
It may also be mentioned that the Manipur Relief Association, Imphal had donated Rs 10,000 to the CM Relief Fund yesterday.
AR reaches out
Continuing with their initiatives to support their neighbours and reach out to the general population, 20 Assam Rifles of HQ 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) provided purified drinking water to the schools of Panchai and Monsangpantha of Chandel district on Aug 21-22.Landslides had damaged water pipes of the area, said a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) .
Village mantri clarifies
Clarifying the news report about the headman and secretary of Halang village being arrested in connection with the murder of Huining village chairman, Halang Village Authority has today stated that there is no such "age old land dispute" between the two villages as reported in newspapers.
RPF refutes
Kaster Jasa (29), Indrajit (40) of Lamsang and Myamsan (36) of Hojai who were reported to have been arrested by Me-ghalaya Police in a vernacular daily on August 17 have no connection whatsoever with RPF/PLA, said a press release issued by the outfit's depart-ment of publicity chief Bangkim.
100th anniv
Chief Minister O Ibobi would take part in the inaugural function of Rani Gaidinliu's 100th birth anniversary which would be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 24 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
Ibobi is likely to leave Imphal for New Delhi tomorrow.
Curfew lifted
Curfew clamped at Moreh town following violent con-frontation between two groups of people on August 18 has been lifted today.
Even as normalcy has returned in the township, strin- gent security measures have been put in place.
