MLA zeroes in on importance of clubs in conserving environment

Thoubal, June 14 2022: Dr Thokchom Radheshyam, Heirok Assembly Constituency has highlighted the role of local clubs in preserving the sanctity of the surrounding environment.

The MLA made this statement at the first foundation day cum World Environment Day observance organised by Khuman Youth Development Club (KYDC) Heirok Part III today.

Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Thokchom Radheshyam shared that there are two kinds of environment- physical environment which consists of the natural elements around us and human environment, which refers to the formation of interpersonal relation between humans.

When these two kinds of environment are maintained properly, a peaceful co-existence is possible, he added.

He appealed for the people's cooperation in preserving a clean environment.

Further he also urged the local clubs to find eligible beneficiaries for the various schemes launched by the Government in order to improve their financial condition.

The MLA also touched upon the topic of drug abuse and appealed to the local clubs to cooperate with police in rehabilitation efforts of drug addicts.

The event was also attended by Laishram Johny, KYDC general secretary; Laishram Megha Meitei, president KYDC; Ningthoujam Dipa Devi, Range Officer, Thoubal Forest Division; Th Shanti, SDPO Yairipok and Social Scientist Dhanabir Laishram, Sunil Myboy, Universe Sharma as special guests.
