Detained migrants turn out to be Rohingyas

Six illegal migrants who were detained by police, turned out to be Rohingyas from Myanmar after proper verification.
Briefing the media persons at SP Imphal West conference hall today evening, DIG Range I, Themthing Ngasangva said that yesterday morning, Manipur police received specific inputs that some illegal migrants would arrive at Imphal from Delhi via an Indigo flight.
Immediately, foreigner check post, Imphal airport and Imphal West police were alerted and following the strict measures, six illegal migrants were detained for verification at around 9.20 am.
During verification, it was found that out of the six individuals, only one could speak Hindi while the rest spoke only Urdu.
On further checking of their documents, it was found that all of them possessed only Aadhaar cards and three of them were had their addresses in Manipur while the remaining three were from Hyderabad (as per their Aadhaar cards) .
The DIG continued that it was suspected that the detained individuals were illegal migrants entering the State by using forged documents and that they might have done so with the help of some agents and informed that the particulars of the detained individuals appeared on their Aadhaar car as Md Yusuf s/o Md Moosa of Govajang (Chandel), Md Abdul Qadir s/o Md Dawood of Yairipok Bamon Leikai Changamdabi, Huzaifa s/o Abdul Gafar Bahadurpura (Hyderabad), Sadik s/o Hussain of Bahadurpura, Md Saleh s/o Md Ali of Yairipok Bamon Leikai and Karimullah s/o Abdul Kareem of Bahadupura.
Accordingly, the Inspector of Foreigner Check Post Tulihal Airport, submitted a report to OC, Singjamei PS for proper verification and to take up necessary action.
During the enquiry, the statements of the said individuals were recorded and their documents were checked and verified as well, said the DIG.
During the course of inquiry, all the six individuals were not able to give proper answers regarding their origin, purpose of visit and their destination.
Hence a case was registered at Singjamei PS at around 2.30 pm and their documents and belongings (including their Aadhaar cards and plane tickets) were seized, the DIG said, adding that on further investigations, an ATM card (marked as CB Bank), VISA in the name of one Hoe Myint Naing of Yangon (Myanmar) and one cash memo receipt of a Myanmarese like language were seized from their possession.
The detained persons then admitted that they were natives of Myanmar and established their identities as Yarzarlin s/o Aung Niwat of Kunblu Mandalay, Min Min Oo s/o Win Tin of Myeik Myanmar, Soe Ko Ko s/o Kyaw Ko Ko of Myeik Myanmar, Moe Sat Naing s/o Hasi of Pyinmanar Myanmar, Nyi Nyi Soe s/o Uchein of Myeik Myanmar and Zaw Min Thang s/o Oo Tin Than of Yangoon Myanmar.
It was further revealed that they were trained at Madrasas in Delhi and other parts of the country and their documents including Aadhaar cards were arranged by some agents (including people from Manipur) before they came here.
Investigation is going on to find out the identities of those involved in helping the illegal migrants, the DIG added.
