MAPC mourns Ph Santosh

Manipur Amateur Photo Club (MAPC) has mourned the untimely demise of its founder member Phanjoubam Santosh of Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak on August 9 and observed a two minute silence during a condolence meeting held at its office at New Checkon on August 10 .
A press release issued by MAPC said that Phanjoubam Santosh, who was also a photojournalist of Press Trust of India, had been a member of MAPC since its inception during the mid 1990s and played an active role to promote photography in the State.
It is indeed a great loss for the club and the photography fraternity to lose such an inspiring photographer, it added.
The statement also maintained that one thousand and one photographs shot by Phanjoubam Santosh were exhibited in a series of State wide solo photo exhibition held in various parts of Manipur like Imphal, Jiribam and Moreh in 2014 .
Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) also condoled the demise of senior photojournalist Phanjoubam Santosh on August 9 .
Conveying that thousands of photographs relating to Manipur flora and fauna captured by him were published in both National and international media, CADA maintained that his demise has left a huge void in the media world and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
