Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her heartiest greetings and good wishes to the people of Manipur, especially Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, which falls on August 12.In her message, Dr Najma said that Eid-ul-Zuha or "festival of sacrifice" celebrates the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self interest for the good of all.
The festival promotes tolerance, harmony and goodwill amongst difference, said the Governor, appealing all to maintain unity and usher in an era of peace and prosperity in Manipur.
Chief Minister N Biren too wished the people of Manipur, particularly Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha.
Stating that the festival promotes the feeling of compassion and love to serve the poor and the needy, the CM prayed for the festival to spread the message of love, kindness and forgiveness to all sections of the society.
Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand too has extended his greetings to the people, specially the Muslim brethren on the occasion.
In his message the Speaker said that Eid-ul-Zuha celebrates the sacrificial spirit and charity towards fellow beings.
Works Minister Th Biswajit extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha.
"May the divine blessing of the Almighty fill the State with new hopes, peace and prosperity", Biswajit added.
While greeting the citizens of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar also prayed to unite all in a common bond of understanding for a better Manipur.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC); Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) too greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion.
