'MPHC Ltd trying to be the best corporation'

The Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited (MPHC) has been trying to live upto the expected standard.
Though construction works in Manipur are affected by various reasons, MPHC has constructed 3120 buildings and structures of the Police Department and others, said P Mallana Goud, MD, MPHC during a press conference held here today at DIPR complex.
He said the Corporation is executing 107 works involving around Rs 102 crore of the State Government and Central Government.
The Corporation has always executed quality works within the scheduled time.
The Corporation charges 11.75% as an agency charge.
Out of this, 8% is been contributed to the Government as Government revenue.
Over the years, due to the completion of works within the scheduled time, various other departments under both the State Government and Central Government have approached MPHC to execute works as deposit works.

Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited was once described by Dr Kurien, then Advisor to the Planning Commission of India as "A model and the best corporation" in Manipur.
Works that are now in progress include 8th IRB (CDO Bn) at Khabeisoi, five type three(G+3) quarters in Imphal areas, accommodation for Officers' trainees at MPTC, Pangei and all are expected to be completed by March 2017), Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorism (CIAT) School at Jiribam which is completed, Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) building at CMTW, Imphal(expected to be completed in June 2017), two new police stations at Willong and Purul in Senapati District(expected to be completed in March 2017, Model police station at Porompat, Horticulture Directorate building(expected to be completed by March 2017), DIPR Office building at Keishampat (waiting for release of fund) TB and Leprosy Hospital at Keirao Wangkhem(expected to be completed by December 2016) and shifting of compound wall along NH-150 at Imphal International Airport(expected to be completed by March 2017) .
MPHC is also planning to take up infrastructure works for three new police stations at Joujangtek, Thangal and Tolloi, police outpost (POP) at Chingkham, Waithou.
and Sora Khunuda Ching, foreigner checkpost at Jiribam, new police headquarters building at Imphal and a multi-storeyed Imphal City police station.
The Corporation is well equipped with latest survey equipments and its functioning is also computerized with latest software of Auto CAD for preparation of drawing in the Architectural Division and STAAD Pro for structural designing of buildings which are carried out by our structural engineers having qualifications of MTech/ME, P Mallana Goud said.
The Corporation executes construction works through contractors who are registered with the Corporation.
The Corporation provides construction materials such as cement, steel, CGI sheet, electrical goods etc.
to the contractors with a view to maintain quality.
The Corporation has also established 'e-resource' centre to collect any kind of information through internet, introduced 'e-transaction' through which any kind of transaction can be carried out.
Most of the buildings are designed to withstand earthquake.
MPHC Ltd has been contributing towards the construction of various infrastructure for Police Department Fire Service Department in all the districts of Manipur including far flung remote areas thereby helping in maintaining law and order.
Th Shyamcharan Singh, Chief Engineer, L Bankimchandra Singh, Chief Architect, S Romendra Singh, Superintending Engineer, K Herojeet Singh, Finance Manager cum Administrative Officer also attended the press conference.
