CJM rejects bail applications

CJM, Imphal West has rejected the bail applications filed by the six accused persons who are at judicial custody in connection with the February 27 violent clash between neighbours at Kakwa Huidrom Leikai.
It may be mentioned that one teenager RK Casper succumbed to bullet injuries while seven others sustained injuries in the clash.
The accused whose bail applications were rejected today are Longjam Rakeshkumar Singh, Longjam Achou Singh, Longjam Chittaranjan, Longjam Langkeshwor, Longjam Niranjan and Longjam Manoranjan.
The CJM rejected the bail applications after hearing the argument brought up by the Counsel and APP of the accused and seeing their (accused) medical report.
The Court also directed the IO of the case or the Jail Authority whoever is applicable to extend all possible medical care and services to the accused no 4 Longjam Langkeshwor by lodging him into a security ward of JNIMS Hospital.
Above this, the Court also directed the IO to produce the accused no 4 before the State Medical Board to ascertain his medical status and submit the report in the next hearing.
