Shija team welcomed

A team of Shija Eye Care Foundation who embarked on a trip to Myanmar under the Mission Myanmar Phase-II for Sight theme was given a rousing reception today at Shija Hospital.
The Shija team, with an attempt to strengthen ties with the neighbouring country, was set off to Myanmar on Dec 24 .
The team operated over 200 cataract cases at General Hospital, Monywa in Myanmar's Sagaing Division.
Dr Kh Ratankumar, Minister of Works and Transport attended the reception programme as a special guest today.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman cum Managing Director of SHRI, Dr Kh Palin said that many cataract cases were successfully operated during the recent trip to Monywa.
He said that Shija Hospital is eyeing to reach not only to Monywa but other townships of Myanmar in future.
He said that the country could not maintain quality in medical care.
Besides, the private sector could not act as service provider to the people due to high fees.
Dr Palin strongly stressed on the need to introduce PPP model in order to improve the medical facility.
