Social activist Konsam Gulapi no more, many condole

Silchar, December 11 2018:
A well known social activist of Assam, Konsam Gulapi Singh, aged 66, is no more.
He took his last breath on Sunday evening.
He is survived by his parents, wife and two sons.
Konsam Gulapi Singh, a retired Havildar of Indian Army was born to Konsam Narahari and Konsam ongbi Tampaklei Devi of Ramnagar Tuko at Silchar in Cachar.
After retiring from Indian Army in 1995 he started involved in social service/activities.
He served Manipuri society of Assam by holding many distinguished posts of many civil organisations including advisor of the All Assam Manipuri Students Union, AAMSU Central Committee, advisor, Assam Manipuri Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, AMMPAL , Chairman of the Committee on Culture for Peace and Integrity, COCPIN, president, Pari Puri Athouba Ningsing tup, Silchar, general secretary of the Manipuri Benevolent Society, advisor, Manipuri Women Weaver's Association etc.
He was also actively associated with the BJP.
He was vice president of the BJP Silchar Mandal and a president of the BJP Kishan Morcha Cachar District Committee.
He was the Commander in Chief of the historic Manipur Lavy of 2008.The Manipuri Youths Front Assam, MYFA president Seram Herajit conveyed his sorrow over the death of Konsam Gulapi.
"It is a great lost for the community," said Herajit.
The All Assam Manipuri Students Union, AAMSU president Pangabam Nilkanta expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.
His contribution towards the society and AAMSU will never be forgotten, Nilkanta said.
AMMPAL president A Lily expressed it's deepest condolence over the death of their former advisor.
"His (Gulapi) contributions towards society will be written in the history with golden letters," Lily conveyed.
Saikhom Kamlakanta, chairman of the COCPIN expressed condolence and mourned the demise of Konsam Gulapi.
Kamlakanta said, Gulapi was the former chairman of COCPIN and his contributions towards the organisation and society are invaluable.
Gulapi contributed a lot for the well being of the Manipuri society in his best way, COCPIN chairman said.
It may also be noted that many intellectual brigades, CSOs leaders , youths and student activists, women organisations also expressed condolence and mourned the untimely demise of the social activist.
Other well wishers of the family and friends too conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members of the Konsam Gulapi.
