Radheshyam flags off Kala Utsav participants

Imphal, December 11 2018:
Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam flagged-off the participants of the National Level Kala Utsav 2018 from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Office, Babupara today.
The Utsav will be held on December 12 at Bal Bhavan, Delhi.
Altogether 12 students of N Tomchou Higher Secondary School are participating in the utsav along with three teachers as guides.
The team will present the act titled, 'Gandhi Ningshinglubada'.
The students won in the North-Eastern and Eastern Zone competition when they presented this one act play conducted on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Kolkata.
Encouraging the participants, who will represent Manipur at the Kala Utsav, Thokchom Radheshyam motivated them to keeping up their hard work and determination.
He said that the youth in the State are endowed with talents and this has been reaffirmed with the achievements bagged by these young students.
The Minister advised the participants to be bound with the purpose of the visit and wished the students to win the competition.
Kala Utsav is an initiative taken up by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to promote art in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talents of school going students in the country.
Students from various States will be competing on vocal music, instrumental music, dance, painting, theatre etc.
Director Education (S) Thokchom Kirankumar and concerned officials were also present at the flag-off ceremony.
