PAC condemns lack of response, threatens stir

Condemning the lack of any positive response from the authorities concerned, the PAC against the brutal killing of Pravish Chanam has announced that the PAC along will various likeminded CSOs, student unions, clubs and Meira Paibi Lups will hold a joint meeting so as to launch fresh and strategic democratic agitations at the earliest.
A press release issued by the convenor of the PAC mentioned that following the mysterious and suspicious death of Pravish Chanam of Uripok Achom Leikai, at Greater Noida on September 10 last year and the demand for justice by the people, the State Government intimated the PAC and even the CM announced through news and social media that the UP Government had written to the CBI to handle the case on January 29 this year.
However, on September 20, CBI sent a letter to KIL stating that it is not suitable to conduct the investigation as the UP State police itself is well equipped and professionally trained, it stated, adding that upon learning the facts, the PAC along with various decided to launch intense agitation.
It continued that the State Government called a Cabinet meeting on November 11 and decided to write to the CBI to handle the investigation but the lack of any proof regarding despatching any documents or letter to the CBI, forced the PAC, various CSOs, students' unions, clubs and Meira Paibis to announce a total shutdown of Uripok area on November 21.However, after getting an invitation from the CM to come for a meeting on November 20, the PAC members met the CM during which he appealed to the PAC to provide a period of 20 days time to wait for an official response from the CBI, it claimed adding that the PAC decided to relax the proposed total shutdown for 20 days.
Pointing out that the family members and the PAC had been waiting for the State Government and the CM to translate their words into action, the PAC stated that the deadline expired yesterday but there has been no positive response from the Government till now.
It then warned that the PAC along with like minded CSOs and associations will organise an emergency meeting at the earliest so as to launch democratic and strategic forms of agitation.
