Bishnupur: S Rajen inspects educational institutions

Education Minister S Rajen Singh has said that undertaking contract works by the head of institutions and teachers in Government schools and colleges will be viewed seriously as such a habit will spoil the sanctity of the noble profession.
Speaking to the media during an inspection tour at different schools and colleges of Bishnupur district today, the Minister said that educational institutions possessing good looking buildings and infrastructures are another bonus to attract students, urging all concerned to maintain schools and colleges properly.
To improve the Government schools and colleges, officials of the Education Department have been instructed to prepare DPR and submit it to the Ministry for sanctioning enough funds, he said and added that the budget available in the department will be utilized for renovation and construction of necessary structures on a priority basis.
He also explained that Government schools and colleges are diminishing due to the negligence of duty by the head of institutions and teachers and lack of attention from the concerned department.
The Minister was accompanied by Chairman, Manipur Pollution Control Board, MLA L Radhakishore while visiting Thambalmarik College, Oinam Government High School, Oinam, and Fish Farm, Toubul.
Later, the Minister visited CI College, Bishnupur, Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong, Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School, Ningthoukhong High School along with MLA, Ningthoukhong AC, K Govindas Singh.
He also visited Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School.
MLA Moirang AC P Saratchandra Singh was also present during the visit.
S Rajen also visited Kumbi College.
He was felicitated there by the teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college.
He also visited Borayangbi Government Upper Primary School.
The Ministerial team includes ex-Minster N Mangi; social worker M Ashnikumar; Commissioner, Higher and Technical Education, M Harekrishna and Chief Engineer Education Engineering Wing, Kh Sarat Singh among others.
