Imphal, June 02 2019:
Renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem has appealed to all concerned not to publish any news or reports until and unless a definite conclusion has been reached regarding the unfortunate and brutal murder of his mother.
Speaking to media persons at his residence at Singjamei Thokchom Leikai today, Robert said that a local TV network and some local dailies published some news regarding the incident without any proof or a definite conclusion.
Over and above this, many reports and rumours also went viral on social media, he said adding that he does not know much about journalistic norms and rules but still knows clearly that a news has the ability to create a huge impact in the society.
However, if such news create a burden over an already existing misfortune and makes it uncomfortable for a grieving person or family, then it is quite unfortunate, he added.
Clarifying that he is not against the media, he appealed to those concerned to verify the credibility of a news and to properly research the topic before publishing it.
He further clarified that he is not trying to save his father, who is in police custody as the prime suspect in the murder.
Robert continued that he wishes for justice to prevail and is not against any action taken up under the law against his father he is indeed found guilty.
However, he conveyed that if his father turns out to be innocent, it will be a herculean task to nab the real culprit (s).
Robert then appealed to all not to spread or publish any news without verification as the investigation is still on.
It may be mentioned that Robert's mother, Naorem (O) Rekha (66) was found brutally murdered at their residence on.
