139th birth anniversary of Helen Keller observed

Imphal, June 02 2019:
Celebrating 139th birth anniversary of Helen Adams Keller, Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled persons, Manipur on Sunday planted saplings around the proposed site of the "Special Home for Differently Abled Persons" at Leitong Haorang Keirel, Imphal West.
The tree plantation programme was organised under the aegis of Phijigi Manilakta journal Chief Editor Nimol Ningombam.
M Premier Singh, programme manager, Bikram Luwang, project consultant, Karnajit Khoirom, rehabilitation officer, Korou Laishram, internal auditor, Asem Surjit, joint secretary and Suranjoy, member attended the programme.
Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 - June 1, 1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer.
She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
