UPF Tamenglong condemns Govt Bills

Tamenglong, September 12 2015 :
The United People's Forum (UPF) Tamenglong District has condemned the three Bills passed by the State Assembly on August 31, 2015 namely the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (7th Amendment) Bill, 2015, the Protection of Manipur Peoples Bill, 2015 and the Manipur Shops and Establishments (2nd Amendment) Bills, 2015 .
According to UPF Tamenglong secretary Sd Remoikung Chiru, the forum was formed on September 3 after a public meeting held at Shekinuh- Inn Tamenglong HQs to represent the various communities living in the district such as Chiru, Hmar, Inpui, Khasia, Khongsai, Koireng, Liangmai, Rongmei and Zeme tribes.
The forum in its meeting held on September 11 at Zeliangrong House took two resolutions to condemn the 3 three Bills passed by the State Assembly on August 31 and the police action at Churachandpur.
UPF also expressed solidarity and shared the grief of the bereaved families.
He said the Forum will have their next meeting on September 26 at Tamenglong district headquarters.
