Moreh Bandh suspended

The proposed indefinite bandh called by civil societies of Moreh town has been suspended with respect to the approach made by CO of 31 Assam Rifles for allotting two days period to negotiate with the Myanmar Army.
The bandh was proposed in the areas of Moreh-Myanmar border in denunciation of the lackadaisical attitude of Myanmar army in proving aid to one Md Abdul Noor, a child who was injured in the firing incident of December 5 carried out by Myanmar Army.
The decision for suspending the bandh was taken in a meeting held at Madrasa LP School of Moreh Ward No 5 on January 6 .
Various leaders of civil society organisations of Moreh and the commanding officer of 31 Assam Rifles Vikram Singh were attended in the meeting which was also discussed to sign a memorandum of understanding with Myanmar Army for preventing future similar incidents.
